Athens, Georgia – Georgia Bulldogs reserve cornerback Jake Pope issued a heartfelt apology after practice on Friday after his joyous post-game demeanor ruffled the feathers of the Georgia faithful.

“Okay, as we all know, there was an unfortunate incident after Ole Miss last weekend, and we just want to put that to bed,” said Bulldogs head coach Kirby Smart. “Jake, you wanna come up here and say something to these people?” he said, motioning for Pope to take the podium.

“I just want to tell all of the Georgia fans and other players who were impacted by my actions just how sorry I am. I’m better than what you saw from me last Saturday,” said a tearful Pope.

“I know an apology can’t make up for the damage my jubilation caused, but I want everyone in Dawg Nation to know that I’m going to learn and grow from this,” Pope concluded.

“Good, thank you Jake,” said Smart, retaking the podium. “Okay, next order of business, our weekly DUI report…”

Athens, Georgia – Georgia football fans can add a title to their regular football media diet, with the debut of an exciting new podcast called They Tried to Rob Us!...

Athens, Georgia – Georgia football fans can add a title to their regular football media diet, with the debut of an exciting new podcast called They Tried to Rob Us!

The podcast’s first episode was published to Spotify in the early morning hours of Sunday, October 20th, and featured 27 uninterrupted minutes of expletive-laden and occasionally intelligible vitriol. At one point, spit could be heard landing on the recording microphone.

The anonymous host—who published the podcast under the username shmirbyshmart, and whose voice appears to have been altered—wandered aimlessly from topic to topic, all tangentially related to perceived officiating grievances that occurred during the Georgia vs Texas game on Saturday. The host even went so far as to dox the entire officiating crew, including releasing the names of known relatives and home addresses.

Interested listeners can subscribe on Spotify or wherever you get your podcasts.
