2024 is a good time to be a highly sought-after college football player or formerly in-demand college football coach according to a recent survey of over 1,000 kindergarten-aged kids.

“Demographic shifts and public perception changes always occur, that’s life,” said Kim Parker, Director of Social Trends Research at Pew via RingCentral Thursday morning.

“But this is unprecedented, and it’s one more unforeseen consequence of NIL,” said Parker.

“These kids are well aware of the economic uncertainty this country is facing. They no longer want to serve their community or answer the call of civic duty; they want Larry Ellison to dip into his petty cash fund to pay them multiple millions of dollars to play football. Or even better, to get paid eight figures to stop coaching college football because they performed so poorly,” concluded Parker.

“It’s good work if you can get it,” said one seven-year-old during an in-person interview on the condition of anonymity before making the Johnny Manziel “money” gesture.
