Ann Arbor, Michigan – Michigan athletic director Warde Manuel confirmed via phone that the Wolverines have preemptively asked the NCAA to vacate its wins from 2024, instead of 2023.
“As Michigan men, we feel the only right thing to do here is make the first move, and go ahead and vacate our wins from the 2024 season entirely. We hope the NCAA agrees that this is as a fitting punishment, and accepts our offer.”
When asked why Michigan chose to vacate the 2024 season instead of its historic 2023 national championship season, Manuel began to simulate radio static noise, and said “You’re breaking up, I can’t here you,” before abruptly hanging up.
