Los Angeles, California – A press release from Fox Sports published to PR Wire early Sunday morning announced the renaming and rebranding of Fox’s prime college football show.
“We needed a fresh start,” said Fox Sports CEO Eric Shanks via Slack Huddle early Sunday morning. “The Big Noon brand has taken us as far as it can, now it’s time for something fresh, something new, something different.”
When asked what specifically would change about the production to get the program—and ratings—pointed back in the right direction, Shanks said flatly, “The name.”
When asked where the new name originated from, Shanks quickly summarized the events of a four-day workshop with the entire Fox Sports executive team and a high-paid LA-based branding firm.
“It really has a nice ring to it, doesn’t it?” Asked Shanks, hopefully rhetorically. “GameDay’s ass is MINE!” Shanks said before going, “Wooo!!!!” and exiting the huddle.
