Ann Arbor, Michigan – Following the blockbuster news that consensus 5-star quarterback and No.1 overall prospect Bryce Underwood had flipped his commitment from LSU to Michigan, a source close to the Michigan football program added some important details pertaining to Underwood’s dietary restrictions.
“He had a big ol’ platter of fried gator tenders on his most recent recruiting trip down to Baton Rouge, and he broke out in hives afterward,” said the anonymous source via Skype earlier today.
“I know that’s not all they eat down there, but it’s certainly a staple of the local diet. And listen, I get it: it’s abundant, great source of protein, delicious, chicken-like flavor. So it makes sense.”
When asked whether Michigan’s bank-breaking offer played a role in getting Underwood to flip, our source said it was 50/50.
“Money is great, but if you can’t indulge in the local cuisine, can you really enjoy your time playing in a place? That was Bryce’s thinking, anyway,” our source concluded.
