Syracuse, New York – Kyle McCord’s nation-leading 12 interceptions have been met with zero death threats from the Syracuse fanbase, our Stats & Information team has found.
“It’s a staggering achievement, and not something that would have been possible at Ohio State,” said Tyler Cady, Syracuse’s Associate Director of Sports Communications via Zoom earlier this week.
“It’s part of the reason football players come here,” continued Cady, “and it’s something we sell them on really hard: expectations for Orange football are not life-and-death. That was something that really resonated with Kyle when we were selling him on Syracuse. We said, ‘Hey, you come here, you can throw all the interceptions you want, and your family won’t be in danger.’ It seems like that’s when it clicked for him,” Cady concluded.
