Manchester, New Hampshire – Visitors to lovely Manchester, New Hampshire will notice a new addition to the outdoor advertising landscape as they are greeted with an all-new billboard denoting the New England town as the birthplace of Ohio State Buckeyes head coach Ryan Day—with one tiny twist.
“We’re pretty excited to show off one of our most famous sons,” said Manchester’s Director of Economic Development Jodie Nazaka via RingCentral remote meeting. “We think making note of our best-achieving and most fortunate citizens will do wonders for this town’s economy.”
When asked who came up with the idea for the tourism-driving initiative, Nazaka said it was a group effort.
“We’re all football fans in the office, some Buckeyes, some Wolverines, but watching Day’s 5-star-studded team get blanked in the second half and fall to an—at least on paper—inferior opponent in rival Michigan, that really drove the point home. Regardless of collegiate athletic affiliation, this was something we all agreed on,” Nazaka said.
